Goblin Valley

We decided that we needed to go on a little vacation together before we had the baby. We went with Ranae and Samuel. We stayed at a hotel in Green River so that we could go see Goblin Valley. The four of us left on Friday after we were all done with work and school, which ended up being around 1. The drive was about 2 and 1/2 hours away, so we got there at 3:30. When we got to Green River we felt like we were in a ghost town. There were lots of old buildings that were out of business, some buildings looked like they had been broken down for decades. We checked into our hotel and layed around for a bit and then went to find some diner. We were hoping for some pizza but the only pizza place close by was Chow Hound and we couldn't get ourselves to eat there just yet. So we tried another place but as soon as you walked in it smelt like an old folks home and we just couldn't get ourselves to eat there. Luckily there was an Arby's and a Subway just off the exit. So we all got Arby's and Chris got Subway. When we finished we headed back to the hotel.

That morning we got up and went to get breakfast around 8 and it was pretty full. We had to wait for some people to finish before we could sit down. We ate and then got ready to go to Goblin Valley. I was so excited. Samuel was the only one who had been there before. When we finally got there I have to say it was one of the coolest things that I had ever seen. The rocks really looked like goblins, or mushrooms. There weren't very many people there at first so we wondered around the front looking at all the cool rocks. It was so interesting that the rocks could turn out that way. We started to venture further away towards the bigger rocks in the back. We found lots of caves and got to climb pretty high and see the whole valley. I was pretty impressed with myself because I was able to do the same stuff as everyone else despite that I was 7 months pregnant. We also caught a lizard, we started seeing more and more lizards after that. It was just amazing, and we all had a blast. It was really cool too because me and Ranae had talked about how cool it would be to hang out together with our husbands since we were in middle school and now we are. We had gone all the  way around the valley so we decided to head back and get some lunch. We had packed a cooler with stuff to make ham and turkey sandwhiches. It was so yummy. It had been about 2 hours on our Goblin Valley trip. So after lunch we decided to go to another place close by called Little Wild Horse. At first it seemed like a normal hike but the further into it you get the closer the canyon rocks got to the point that only one person could fit threw at a time. I felt bad when people had to pass because I couldn't really suck in.  We didn't go the whole way threw considering we just spent a lot of time in Goblin Valley but we were another good hour. I am so glad that we went both places were worth seeing. When we got back to the hotel we took a rest. Then headed down to the pool. It was nice to relax in the hot tub, well for Chris, I could only stick my feet in. However it was also fun to get in the pool and race. It didnt last long but it was couples teamed up. Ranae and I were on the boys backs and they saw who could get to the other side first. Samuel got there first but he also lost Ranae along the way. This time for diner we decided that no matter how gross the Chow Hound sounded we were going to go and eat it anyway. Were so glad that we did because it was just fine. We even came back later to get a shake there. We took our shakes to a park that was across the street. The lady that worked at Chow Hound told us that there were only 900 people living in the city. No wonder so many places were out of business. It was a nice visiting but I have to say that I am greatful to live where we do. After our shakes we headed back to the hotel were we played catch phrase. I got a headache so my amazing husband Chris took me to the gas station to get me some medecine. When we got back we just watched Harry Potter, only difference was we muted it and Samuel did the voices for all the characters. It was the best time I have had watching Harry Potter.

The next morning we did the basics, woke up, ate breakfast, got packed and headed home. In the car we played a fun game. You pick a topic, the first person things of a word, the next person thinks of a word that starts with the last letter of the other persons word but it has to stay on topic. It pretty much lasted the whole drive.
