Snow Day

Today is the first day it snowed for this year. The last time that Jaylee saw snow was when she was about 6 months old. So this is kind of like her first time seeing snow. I got her all bundled up and took her out side. When I first opened the door she just stood there staring outside. Normally she is booking it to get out. So I carried her down the stairs and put her on the side walk. She stood there for a minute and then started trying to grab it off the ground. The snow didn't last very long because it didn't stick, plus it melted away by the next day. It was fun awhile it lasted.

Penguins Of Madagascar

There is a new movie in theaters for the Penguins of Madagascar. We wanted to go see a movie with my family so we picked that one so that Jaylee could come. It will be her first movie in the theaters. I was nervous that she was going to be to wiggly but as long as we gave her snacks through out the movie she did really well. A little more than half way my mom stood with her by the doors because she didn't want to sit anymore. Over all though I think she did a great job for her first time. We saw a commercial for the new Minion movie. Jaylee laughed pretty hard at it so we really want to take her to see that one. She sits and watches the Despicable Me movies so I think she will do a good job at that one as well.

Kangaroo Zoo

Our friends Josh and Kassi Nelson invited us to go to the kangaroo zoo with them. They have a daughter that is a month younger than Jaylee. We were so excited to have a play date and do something fun! The kangaroo zoo is a play place were they have a ton of bouncy houses and bouncy slides. Jaylee had so much fun and she had absolutly no fear. She loved the slides. We were there for about an hour and a half. Then we went to the Pizza Factory for diner! So nice to see our friends!

Aubri's Day

We went down to Highland to watch Aubri's dance recital. It was cute to see all of the little girls dance. Aubri's song was the second one but when all the girls walked on stage Aubri ran off crying. Tara was on the side trying to get her to stay but she really didn't want to. Poor girl, is so shy. After the performances was over we went to Tara and Austins house to celebrate Aubri's 3rd birthday. The theme was Tangled. Tara and Dave made waffles. They were so good. Tara made Aubri and Tangled cake, it turned out so cute! After we ate and sang happy birthday we watched Aubri open her presents.  Her cute face was in ahhh at ever gift that she opened. Chris and I got her a princess cup filled with starburst, Frozen jellybeans, pencils, and a princess notebook with stickers. However we left it at our house so Chris is going to give it to them when he sees Austin at work. Jaylee wanted to get into all the gifts too. It was hard to contain those two girls. Aubri seemed to have a good birthday party and it was fun to see everyone!

Ward Christmas Party

Our ward did soups for diner, had the primary kids sing christmas songs, had deserts, and then Santa came. The line was really long so we helped clean up awhile we waited. Jaylee was one of the last kids to sit on Santa's lap. She stared at him for awhile and then he gave her a candy cane and she just stared at it. She was so cute, didn't cry or anything. Loved talking with some of our neighbors. We need to spend more time with them.

Work Christmas Party

My mom and dad came out to our place to watch Jaylee awhile we went to the work party. It was nice to get a little dressed up and go have a nice diner. The food was great, we had ham, and turkey with lots of sides. They had foamy drinks too which I loved. We sat at the same table as Tara and Austin plus the Tookes. His work gave out awards and had a raffle. We didn't get anything which was a bummer but it was still fun to go out. His work also gave us a blanket with the Fishbowl logo on the corner. When we got home Jaylee was still up being spoiled by grandma and grandpa. She was running around in her jammies just playing. My dad had taught her the word scary because the book they were reading had a big bad wolf in it. Sounds like everyone had to much fun without us.

Thanksgiving Day

Today is thanksgiving, it is always a busy day. We headed to my parents so that Chris could play football with Stockton. First they played with the guys from the ward, then they played with a group of Stocktons friends. Another year and Chris came home safe. Then we went out to Bobby and Stephanies house at one so that we could have thanksgiving with the extended family, The food was great like it always is Chris's family is full of great cooks. After we ate they put markers and paper on the table so that everyone could write a letter to the two missionaries we have out, Sam, and Taylor. I love Chris's whole family and Jaylee enjoyed playing with Elisa. After we left we went back to my parents. They weren't doing anything special but it is probably Stocktons last thanksgiving with us. We went over to my grandparent Rentfro's house too awhile Jaylee and Chris took a nap. :) My dad said he feels like this might be his dads last thanksgiving. My grandpa seems to be losing it a little, he said some pretty funny things. When we went back home we watched the new Transformers and then headed home. I love being with family.

5 Year Anniversary

Today is our five year anniversary! I can't believe it, it has gone by so fast yet at the same time I feel like I have known him forever! We wanted to get away for the night so we had Jaylee sleep over at my parents house. We dropped her off at about 4 and like always she couldn't care less when we walked out the door. First we went out to eat, Chris had a great idea and we went to the Cheesecake Factory. It was so good, we think we will come her for tradition on our anniversary. They had every kind of food. We even finished it off sharing an oreo cheesecake. Yummy!!! As soon as we were done eating we checked into the hotel and then headed to Deseret Star. We got tickets to see "How the Grouch Stole Christmas". It was pretty funny, even Chris liked it, well until we got half way through it then he started falling asleep. At the end of the show they talked about birthdays and anniversaries. When they asked about anniversaries I cheered. Our anniversary was the exact same day and year as another couple there. That was pretty funny! We got back to the hotel and I gave Chris a gift. It was a board that said "Chris & Sam" on the back and across the front it said "God Gave Me You" Then we had glasses with the yummy bubbly drink. It was so nice get away together. The next day we went down and got breakfast. Then headed to the movies, we went to see "the Hunger Games Catching Fire Part 1" It has been a long time since we saw a movie in theatres. I'm glad that we picked to go see that one. That was the end of our get away, Happy 5 Year anniversary!

Kansas

Chris got an on-sight to Kansas, which is where my uncle Jeff lives. I hardly ever get to see them so I was hoping to go with him. Chris's work said if they didn't have to pay for Chris to stay at a hotel they would pay for me to fly out, and Jay is free. So we talked to Jeff and Anne and they said they would love to have us over. We got there at five thirty but by the time we got to their house it was about 7. They had diner all prepared for us. It was delicious! We got a tour of the house and then just talked for awhile. The next four days were a little boring because Chris, Jeff, and Anne were at work and Addie had school. So Jay and I mostly just hung out. Anne had two of those days off and she gave me jamberrie nails. They have a cat named Crockshanks, that had been declawed. Jaylee kept trying to touch it and the cat would get mad and hiss at her but she thought that was funny and would touch it more. Then it would try and scratch her but it felt more like a pat and Jaylee thought that was funny too. After day 4 it finally decided to bite her, she cried for a little bit but just went back to teasing the cat. As annoyed as the car seemed he wouldn't go hide or run away. The second night we were there Jeff and Anne took all of us out to eat at a Mexican restaurant that was pretty good. On the third night we went to the mall. We got Jaylee a stuff Stitch that is half her size, she loved it and we figured it would be a good Christmas present for her. One night we went to watch Jeffs team practice, Chris even helped at the line up even though he wasn't properly dressed to play. One night Jeff and Anne wanted to take us to a BBQ place so Addie watched Jay and we went out with them. We got so much food, mostly meat. It was really good, we braugth some back for Addie. We were only supposed to be gone from Sunday to Friday but Chris's company wanted two more days so we switched our flights and stayed from Sunday to the next Monday.

Thursday was our first day that Chris had off. Anne had to work that day too. Chris and I took Jaylee to the Kansas Zoo. We really liked this zoo, it was a lot bigger than Hoogle Zoo. It is also more animal friendly but set up so that you can see them from almost every angle. Jaylee loved it so much! She was running around at pointing at the animals. They had a place to feed the deer, so they would lick Jays hand thinking she would have food. That kind of scared her though. They had kangaroos just roaming around in the Australian section of the zoo. That was pretty cool. The last thing that we did was see the bird show. Jaylee loved when they would fly right over our heads, one even brushed against Chris's head. Jaylee was so tired she feel asleep in the car despite how much we tried to keep her up. Then we had lunch at Chili's, it is a great place for Jaylee to eat because she loves the food and the kids menu is perfect for her. She loves the quasadias and the steamed broccoli, plus she gets chocolate milk.
Saturday everyone had off so we went to a different mall, except Jeff, he has a big game tonight. The mall had a place with a dinosaur restaurant. We didn't eat there but they had some cool things you could go in and look at. We took a picture by the yellow brick road that they had there. We also ate yogurt at a place called Sweet Frog. We decided to go there because they had a mascot that we knew Jaylee would love and we were right. She couldn't stop hugging it and giving it high fives. The yogurt was yummy too! That night we went to watch Jeff coach his football team at the championship game. It was pretty cool to get to be there for that. At first we were kind of worried because they weren't doing to good. It was only a few minutes in at the score was 0-6. However shortly after that we came back and actually creamed the other team. The final score was 60-20. Jaylee loved to watch the cheerleaders. Anytime that they would cheer she would get all excited and dance. It was pretty cold so we had gotten her a coat and beanie. She looked so cute in them. As soon as the game was over Chris and I left because Jay was getting tired.
Sunday we got up early to go to church, it was pretty neat though because we got to go to one of the wards that Hayden served in. I was really bummed that his mission president said no to letting us see him but it was probably for the best. I did get to talk to a few people that knew him. They all just loved Hayden. After church we went back home and waited for Jay to take a nap, then headed back out again. We went to visit some church sights, the first place was the visitors center. It was very peacful there. Then we went to Liberty Jail. That one was neat! I couldn't help but think of the trial we are going threw and relating to some of Joseph Smiths experience. The most touching part was we went around to the front of the Jail were they talked about the people that came to watch and mock Joseph and his friends as they entered the prison. Joseph was the last to go in and he turned around to everyone and tiped his hat saying "good afternoon gentlemen". It really spoke volumes of his character and I know that that is the same reaction my dad would give and is giving during this trial. It was really neat to experience and see in person. The other cool thing was there was a sister missionary there that arrived around the same time Hayden did so we asked her if she knew him. She said "yes, I flew out with him, and I get to see him at zone meetings". I told her he was my brother and she gave me a big hug and said she would give that to Hayden but in the form of a hand shake. She seems like a really cool girl and it was nice to have that connection to him. I loved even just driving around and getting to see the kind of places that Hayden was serving in. I really miss that boy, especially his hugs. We also stopped by and got pictures in front of the Royals and Chiefs stadium.
The next day was Monday and everyone had work. We stopped into Annes work to say good bye and play basketball one more time with Addie. Then we headed home to get ready and leave. We stopped by and got some food and snacks and went to the airport. Both there and back Jaylee did pretty good. She got a little fussy because of bordum but other than that she did really good. On the way back she even fell asleep for the last 15 minutes. Ranae and Sam picked us up and we went out to eat and Pei Wei of course. It was nice to be home but I am sure going to miss Jeff, Anne, and Addie! I love them all so much!

Halloween

Today is halloween, I love halloween, and it is so much more fun having a kid old enough to get dressed up and go out. During the day Jaylee and I painted her tiny pumpkin that she started at the work party. It only lasted a few minutes but she seemed to like it. She used the brush at first and then moved to using her fingers.
Chris got home from work and we got ready for the evening. Jaylee was so excited to put on her stith costume again. We have had to hid her costume because she always wants to put it on. Around 4:30 we headed out. We stopped by two of our neighbors house, we didn't see them at the ward party and they just love Jaylee. They both gave her candy to put in her bucket. Then we drove up to Dawna's to visit grandma. She gave Jaylee a small carton of teddy grams. We chilled there for a little bit and talked. Then we left to go get diner, we stopped at Rubios. Then we went to Bobby and Stephanies house. Abigal was passing out candy. Jaylee ate so much candy at their house. Stephanie came home shortly and we talked to her for awhile and then Bobby got home and we stayed for a few more minutes and then took off. We went to Chris's Grandma to see her and Greg. They had a cute bag of goodies for Jay. Like hershey's kisses, glow in the dark wand, glow in the dark bracelet, and a big bouncy ball. After we were done chilling there we headed to my parents house. When we got there they were about to start a movie, we walked in quitly and just send Jay down the hall. She stood on the side of the couch and waited for Grandma and Grandpa to see her. Once they did we came in the room. My mom had got Jaylee a little doll for her halloween toy. We started the movie, we watched Paranormal Activity. About 1/2 way threw the movie Jaylee started acting crazy, the sugar was kicking in. She was pacing the room making silly sounds with her mouth and then laughing at them.  She was so funny! Once the movie was over we headed home it was about 10 o'clock when we were all finished up with our halloween night, and Jaylee was exhausted. Seems like she had a blast!

Carving Pumpkins

Ranae and Samuel came over to our house to have diner, watch the jazz game, and carve pumpkins. First we ate, Ranae made bread sticks, brocolli soup, and we had left over chili! It was so good! At half time we carved the pumpkins. Jaylee enjoyed pulling the seeds out of the pumpkins but we had to stop her because she started throwing it everywhere. We got our pumpkins carved, and then cleaned Jaylee off. Then we finished up the game and put Jaylee down to bed!

Jazz Scrimmage

Chris wanted to go to the jazz scrimmage. He is so excited for the season to start and the scrimmage is free and you can sit almost wherever. We pretty close, we were on the black comfy fold out seats. Jaylee, like always, wasn't shy at all and hopped into the lap of the lady in front of us. She stayed with her for a few minutes but eventually came back. After we were there for awhile we started getting snacks. Jaylee was in heaven she had cotton candy, lemonade, ext. We got up to let her walk around several times! She was out as soon as we got home!

Barnes Home Owners

Today is Chris's birthday but it is also the day that Samuel and Ranae get to move their things into their new house. We helped last night with loading up the trailer too. So they slept over at our house because all of their stuff is packed away. However they couldn't sleep very well so they got up at 5 and Chris took them to their place to clean it up for inspection. We got there at 10:30 along with my parents to help. They had finished cleaning right when we arrived and the land lord picked up the keys and checked the place out. Then we headed to their new place. It went by pretty fast, we just took all the boxes the down stairs rooms. Their new place reminds me a lot of the yellow house that I lived in when we lived in Sandy growing up. We lived their for 8 years, so many memories at the house. So we talked about all the silly things we did in that house. So fun! I am so happy for them, they have been searching for the right house for a long time. So exciting, congrates you two!

Maci Page Anderson

Today was the day that Maci was born! This is our second niece so far, no nephews yet! Tara went into the hospital yesterday so they could get things going. Tara has had a hard pregnancy, she is only 37 weeks along but because of complications Dr. Young (who has been our Doc. with Jaylee and now) pushed to have her delivered now. So long story short Macie Page Anderson was born on October 14, (the day before Chris and Michelle's birthday) at 12:33 am. She was 7 Lbs 2 Oz and 19 Inches. We went in at 11:30 to visit them and meet her. I was going to take some pictures for them too. We were told that you had to be 14 and older to visit so Chris stayed out with Jaylee but after awhile Austin called Chris and told him that he should come in anway that no body would notice or stop him. Chris still didn't hold her though because he has been feeling a little sick, but he was so glad that he got to see her. Jaylee liked the baby but we had help her because she is still learning to be soft. Maci was super cute, she has so much hair and was surprisingly very chunky. We're just so glad that everything went well and that she wouldn't have to stay in an incupater or anything. Congrates Tara and Austin!

Jazz Scrimmage

Chris and I went to the scrimmage game for the Jazz. It was family night and it was free. We got there early and got free upper bowl tickets for an up coming preseason game. We got pretty close seats to the court. It was pretty cool to be there. Since it was free we decided to splurge a little more on food. We got small pop corn, cotton candy, and lemon aid. Jaylee loved the food, before we got any she climbed in the lap of a lady in front of us to get her food. As time went on jaylee got a little antsy so we walked around the Food court area. She waved at everyone passing by. It was pretty fun and a good family night.  Chris wants to make it a tradition.

AF vs Westlake

Stockton has a football game today. Its the first one we have been able to make this year and I'm so excited to watch him play. Ranae and Samuel were able to come out too, but my parents were out of town so it was just us. We sat on the grass and I actually liked it, it was more comfy and we still had a good view, plus jay had room to walk around. He is number 19. I'm so glad that we made this game because even though his team lost he had some awesome plays. He had a interception at the six and made a touch down with it. It was awesome!! Later he came over to us so he could have me tell his trainer that he could take ibeprophen. I thought he might have a head ache but later that night I found out that awhile he was tackling a guy his own player rammed his hand with his helmet and broke his hand. I had no idea because he was back in the game five minutes later. Stinker didn't tell me. It was also fun to go because Emma goes to AF so she came over to see us during half time. Jaylee loved dancing when the band would play. Any music really! The end score was 28 Westlake to 41 AF. Still proud of you Stock!

Girls Zoo Day

Jenni was going to take Aubri out so that Tara could rest. So she invited Emma, Jay, and me to go out too. We decided to take the girls to the zoo. Aubri had never been before and Jay loved it the last time we went. We drove up around 11 after we switched Chris cars and got gas. We brought by double jogging stroller so we could push both girls together. They both seemed to love it, we would get to the animal and hold them up so they could see it. The brown bear was swimming in the water when we saw it. We also got to go to the bird show. It was about a half an hour long and Aubri really liked it. Jay liked the beggining when they had bird after bird fly around pretty close. But when the lady would talk about the birds she got a little restless. About half way threw walking around the zoo we stopped to have lunch. We ate hamburgers and fries and a few snacks that we both brought for the girls. Delicious! We headed home around 3. Both girls were exhausted and fell asleep in the car. Jay even went back to sleep for two more hours when we got her home and in the crib. I had lots of fun with my cute niece and sister in-laws! So glad they were willing to bring us along! :)

Dawna's Wedding

Today Dawna and John are getting married. Around 1 Jay and I went to help set up and do some last minute things! As soon as Chris got off work around 2:45 he came and grabbed us and we went to pick up the pizza at Costco. We're meeting some of Johns kids at 3:00 at his house. Around 4 we came back home and had Jaylee take a nap before the ceremony. Dawna also came to our house to get ready. Chris showed Cordell and Josh his new game awhile me, Jenni, and Emma went to Swig real quick to get drinks. I don't do it very often but I decided since I don't do it a lot I would get one. I got a Mr. Dew with mango, it was yummy. We came back and got dressed, Tara and Austin also stopped by our house so we could all go together. We got there just in time but the seat choice's were slim so we separated in families and found a set. Our stake president was the one marrying them. He called them to the front gave a short speach about marriage and that was that! Dawna and John are now husband and wife. Us kids went up first to congrats them and then we went into the back to mingle, eat cake, and drink milk. We got to see some relatives and old friends. When everyone started leaving we helped pick up and decided to go out to eat as siblings. Tara and Austin headedb home but the rest of us went to our house, changed real quick and decided to eat at Zupas. It is so nice to hang out with Chris's siblings. I really hope we continue to do it more. Just a few days ago we went up to see Cordell and Jennis place. All the siblings plus Greg went up, except Emma, she was in AZ. We had pizza and played games and went to the park. I enjoy all of them!

A Week Off

Chris took a week off because he has a lot of time left off. We had some lazies days but we had some fun family days too. One day we took Jaylee to the Aqarium in Draper. Chris's work gave everyone a family pass for a year because the company has their software. This is our second time going but this time there was like nobody there. It was way nice, we were able to see everything without having to wait our turn in big crowds. We also got to touch the sting ray this time. Even Jaylee got to touch one. We just leaned her over and she touched the fin of one. It was cute and she got way excited. She also really liked the shark tank. We let her stand right up to the glass and watch the fish and sharks swim by. She loved it!  Another day Chris and I took Jaylee to the park. She went down the biggest slide all by herself. Chris would take her to the top and help her on, then she would slide down and I would catch her at the bottom. She is so adventurous! Chris and I would sit on a bench and she would wonder off by herself. We followed her of course but if we didn't she wouldn't even notice we were gone. Another day Chris and I went on a date to the temple and Olive Garden. My mom watched Jaylee and she took her to the farm at Thanxgiving point. My mom said that she loved the animals. She said she looked confused by the pigs and stuck her finger threw the fence to poke them. My mom also said that Jay was hard to keep up with because she was so fast and didn't want to stay in one spot very long. They went on a carriage ride together too. People were shocked when they heard that she was grandma! My mom does look young for her age.

September 8-14, 2014

Dad's Birthday

Greg's birthday is this Tuesday so were getting together today to celebrate. We all went over to Tara's and Austins house. Everyone brought their own meat and we did a BBQ with potatoes and a salad. After diner Chris and I gave Greg his gift. We got him a tie that Chris had picked out and he did a good job because Greg really liked it. I also made him a card that said "we will always be your little minions" and on the inside was a picture of Gru and 3 minions that had a similar appearance to me, Chris, and Jaylee. Then we sung happy birthday (which is what we're doing in the picture) and are some German Chocolate cake. Aubri and Jaylee enjoyed playing together. They went to hang out with Emma in the front. Emma was talking to Chris about things. She was having a hard time and Aubri came over and patted her on the back and said "settle down". It was really cute and funny at the same time. Joking Austin said "thats how we make people feel better at our house". Before we left Chris gave Emma a blessing to help her with all the life changes that are going on. I know that I don't say it enough but I do love this family. It is cool to see all of the siblings talk and be supportive of eachother. Earlier, around diner, Greg bore his testimony to all of us and it was also a tender moment. Very greatful for my second family.

Swimming Lessons

We signed Jaylee up for swimming lesson this summer. The Nelsons baby is a few weeks younger than Jay and they signed her up. We thought it would be fun to have them go swimming together. So she is in the same class as Claira. It was so much fun! Jaylee seemed to really enjoy it. The first few minutes of her first practice she was a little scared but she loved it after that. The only thing she never learned to love was swimming on her back. She really didn't like it but she loved jumping off the wall, and paddling on her tummy, and even being dunked under water. It shocked her but it never made her cry. Other than claire there was 2 other kids in our class. A little boy who was just a little older than Jaylee and then a girl that was a little older than 2. It was a fun class and our instructor was a sweet girl who looked to be in her early 20's. The class was Mon.-Fri. for two weeks. I am glad that we did it, Jaylee liked it and it was nice to get out of the house and see some adults.
