Home Trip

So the day we headed home from the trip it was mothers day. My brother was going to be calling. All I knew was that he was going to be calling between 1 and 3. That was part of the reason we left so early. When we left it was a little chilie but when we were about half an hour into our drive a storm hit. It was freezing and snowing. There was about a foot of snow. Dawna had to slam on her breaks because all the cars infront of us suddenly stopped. There was a semitruck coming right behind us who also had to slam on his breaks, in order to miss us he went onto the side of the road. Another semi truck came whizzing by in the lane next to us but he didn't have anywhere to go like the other one did, but he tried and ended up hitting the back corner of a car. It was insane how close everything came to us, it was like we had a protective bubble around our car. It was actually pretty cool because 10 minutes into the drive Dawna said " I feel like we should say a prayer real quick." WOW! Dawna called 911 to report everything and the cop said their already on their way because there are 8 wrecks ahead of us. Traffic was at a stand still for awhile, it took us 2 hours to get 10 miles. After we got going we decided to stop and get some food and let Jaylee stretch. We went to Costa Vida and took a bathroom break. When we got back on the road and talked to my dad, we were trying to get back on time but that slowed us down a lot. The weather here is strange because only half an hour later the weather was fine. There was no snow anywhere but the mountains. We got home at 3:30 and my dad said Hayden had just called. So we got our stuff, cleaned up ourselves and were back in the car to try to make it to my parents. Poor Jay, she is such a tropper, she got a little fussy but she was amazing!
