Valentines Day

I love Valentines Day! I love it because it reminds me about who I love, why, and then I get to remind them that I love them. I woke up this morning, got Jaylee up and headed down stairs. On the table was balloons, a card, and chocolate strawberries. It was a sweet surprise, I still get butterflies when Chris expresses his love for me. When Chris got home from work he was able to get my surprise. I had a sign on the side of our bed that said "you deserve a kiss because..." then on the bed I had a ton of hershey's kisses with a heart on them that had a note on it explaining a reason I thought he deserved a kiss. I also had gotten him the sparkling cider we like and a card. Happy Valentines Day babe and you too Jaylee! Mommy and Daddy love you very much! We wanted to get her something but she is so little so we just shared our ballons with her. She loved them and played with them for days.

Jazz Game

We are going to the Jazz game tonight. So we dropped Jaylee off at Dawna's and headed to Salt Lake City. First we went out to hear and Olive Garden. The guy next to us was wearing his pants a little low so Chris got a picture and sent it to my dad saying "just enjoying diner". It was pretty funny. The food was great and we enjoyed talking and laughing together. Chris got the tickets from one of his clients. They are really good seats. Last time he went he took the guys in my family. They seemed to have lots of fun but now its my turn and I'm excited! We were on the third row (not including the ones on the court). We were also right across from the Jazz team. It was cool to see them all up close. The jazz played against the Nuggets and we bet them 118 to 103. Chris wants them to lose but I am glad that we went to a game that they won!

Mission #2

My grandma and grandpa Yates are going back to their mission. One day they called the mission president to see how things were going and he mentioned the idea of them coming back out. They said that they would love to. They were called to leave in March, however they got a call that the other elder missionaries were leaving early and they would appreciate it if they came out in February. So here were are saying good-bye again. This time they will only be gone a year. They had a little good-bye party at there house with lots of people and lots of treats. I'm sure going to miss them a lot. They are such a great support and comfort. I love them so much!

Emma's Birthday

Today we're celebrating Emma's 15th birthday. Ranae and Samuel are watching Jaylee so that Chris and I can go out with his family. Everyone was there except Austin, he wasn't feeling well. We went to eat diner at Wallaby's. When everyone was done eating we sang happy birthday to Emma. She had a little cup cake with a candle in it that she blew out. Then we headed to BYU to go and watch the basketball game. Dawna had baughten everyones tickets for Christmas. I believe that his was my first time going to a BYU basketball game. It was a lot of fun, BYU even won! Chris had gotten tickets to this game from his work as well. Since we already had tickets we gave them to my parents. They sat closer up than we did but they were directly in front of us. It was really nice to go out and do something with everyone. I hope that Emma had a great birthday! :)

Super Grandpas Birthday

Today is my dad's birthday. Yesterday we celebrated it by going out to Texas Road House for lunch. It is one of my dad's favorite resturants. Today we went out to my parents to give him presents. Jaylee gave him a grey shirt that says "This is what a cool grandpa looks like". My dad held Jaylee awhile we hid his presents. He also held her awhile he looked, he kept asking her to help him. Then she also helped him open some presents. It was so cute, he is such a great grandpa. I love my dad so much and I hope that he had a great birthday!

Christmas Day

Hayden is calling at 9:00 am today, so we had to do our Christmas morning pretty fast! It wasn't as hard as we were expecting. We got up when Jaylee first woke up, at 7:30. We feed her  pears for breakfast. It was her first time eating a fruit. She is good at eating anything but I think it was a "sweet surprise". After that we went into the front room to open presents. Jaylee was so cute, we would put a present in front of her and she would swat at it. I would stick the fold in her hand and she would rip it and flap it around. She is such a happy girl. She fell asleep on our way to my parents house. Half way there I realized that we didn't grab any of the presents we were supposed to bring, so we had to turn around. We still made it on time, before Hayden called, and shortly behind us was Ranae and Samuel. It was really nice to talk to Hayden, we got to skype with him. He talked with us probably longer than he should have, it was about 3 to 4 hours. He seems like he is doing great although his biggest distraction is girls. He wouldn't stop asking about them. He wants us to give girls his address so he can email them. So we were joking about all pretending to be a girl and write Hayden and see who he likes the most. :) It was hard getting off but we really needed to let him go. We hung out for a little while until it was 5 and we were going to make a short stop by the my grandma Rentfro's for Christmas. It was the same old same old, craziness. Grandpa was getting angry with someone who was trying to help him with his computer over the phone. Presents were weird and family was awkward. The best part of it was the dog, Winston. He was funny, he liked playing fetch but he sadly tore the penguin up that we were using. After we got back we called it a day and headed home, but Stockton came with us to spend the night because Chris and Stockton wanted to go to the outlets.

Merry CHRISTmas!!!

Christmas Eve

Today is also Jennis birthday along with Christmas Eve. Everyone came over to our house at 11 am. Jenni wanted to have breakfast, so we cooked eggs, french toast, sausage, hashbrowns, and orange juice. The food was so good. After we ate we opened presents. This year we traded names, I had Austin and Chris had Emma. Jaylee got a lot of gifts from the family. It was very sweet of everyone and she loved them. When we finished with presents we headed over to Fishbowl. We played the many games that their work has, sang happy birthday to Jenni, ate chocolate cheese cake, and headed out. It was fun seeing everyone, we had a good time.

Later that night we got into our Pajamas and I took Pictures of Jaylee under the tree. Then we put on some movies and hung out. We watched the Grinch, Elf, and Muppets. After we put Jay to bed Chris and I played Othello in our bed and then went to sleeep. I love Christmas Eve!

Temple Lights

Another date night for us, yay! We went out with the Millers. First we went to eat at Wingers. I had never been before. It was fun to try somewhere new. Then we were heading to Temple Square to go look at the lights. The traffic looked pretty bad so we went around the freeway. It was really cold so before we even walked all the way to the lights we stopped at a hot chocolate place. It was just a van on the side of the sidewalk. It was very convenient. They lights looked beautiful, there wasn't as many lights as we are used to but they were still pretty. We also saw the manger scene, that was very touching. It was like a mini show outside. They just had a set put up and the lights would shine on the part the nararator was telling. Chris's feet were getting cold because his shoes had holes in them so they were getting wet. We decided to split up for a min. from the Millers because they wanted to look at the rest of the lights. We went into the City Creek Mall and walked around until they were ready to go. It was a great date. Oh yeah, Jaylee stayed with my parents awhile we were out. It was nice to be with Chris, he had just returned from an onsight from California.

Ward Party

This is our first Chirstmas party in the ward. We were asked to be in the primary play. The primary kids were going to sing a song about Christ birth. We were Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. All the little kids that were on stage with us kept saying, that baby is a girl not a boy. :) We had to explain that it was just pretend. Chris and I had no idea what we were expected to do until 5 minutes before they started. It was pretty easy though, we went on stage when they sang about baby jesus. We stood together for a sec and then put Jaylee in a manger and sat around her. I was worried that she was going to be her wiggly self and get fussy because we were making he lay down, but she just sat and smiled at us. She did a fantastic job. Before the play we did socialize and eat food. It was great and fun to see everyone outside of church. We have a great ward, we love it.

Work Party

Dawna was watching Jaylee and Aubri so that the four of us could go to the Fishbowl Christmas party. It was nice to get a little dressed up and hang out with peers. After everyone had arrived we started by eating, they had two kinds of meat, mashed potatoes, salads, and deserts. The food was great. When we finished eating Bryce and Kyle put on a little rap show for us, they were dressed up as elves and they sang about fishbowl. it was pretty funny. Then we played a game, it was final jeapordy Fishbowl Christmas style. It was kind of long, and I don't recall our team getting a single question. Before we left they did awards and then gave out the Christmas gift this year. They decided that instead of spending money on a gift they would just hand out the money. Which I will admit was very nice, Fishbowl is such a good place for Chris to work. He loves it and they are so generous. We also love how family oriented they are.

4th Year Anniversary

This year we didn't go and stay any where because Jaylee was only 4 months old. So Dawna babysat Jaylee awhile we went out to eat at Chili's and went to the movies to see Hunger Games: Catching Fire. First we went and saw the movie, it turns out to be Chris's favorite movie of the year. It was really good! Then we went to the resturant, it was weird not having Jaylee but it was nice to get out just the two of us. Food was good too! I love Chris, so exciting to have been married for four years. Its weird because it feels like we have been together forever yet at the same time four years has gone fast!
It sounds like Dawna had a good time watching Jaylee. She said that her and Aubri couldn't be any more different in looks and personality. She loves it! Jaylee had also gone to the doctors today to get her 4 month shots. I was nervous they were going to make her cranky but she was still her happy self. I think it will only get easier to do this again! Right?
